Past Projects II

(Queen Mary University of London, 2012 - 2016)
In autumn 2012 I joined the Doctoral Training Centre in Media and Arts Technology at the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at Queen Mary, University of London. During the first year, which was taught, the projects Aural Identities, Simon WMP, and the Reactive Fan Installation came to life. Furthermore, I developed the Ask the Space application during a research placement at and in collaboration with the London-based architecture and design studio TILT in summer 2013. My ensuing Ph.D., however, evolved around Micro-Atmospheres. In a series of user studies I investigated portable and wearable solutions to support individual thermal comfort in open plan offices.

During my time at Queen Mary, I joined G.Hack, a collective of female researchers at EECS. The aim of the group was to provide a supportive learning environment in which skills sharing, interdisciplinary collaboration and hands-on experimental production could take place. Together with fellow researchers from G.Hack, we developed the interactive installation Light Touch.
